Employer: Middlesex County Overview The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of the Middlesex County Board of Elections warehouse and its election-related operations. The position oversees the preparation, maintenance, storage, security, deployment, retrieval, and inventory of voting equipment, electronic poll books, election supplies, and other Board property. The Warehouse Supervisor works under the direction of the Board Administrator and is responsible for ensuring that warehouse operations are completed accurately, securely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable federal and state election requirements and Board policies and procedures.The position is both supervisory and operational and requires significant hands-on participation, particularly before, during, and after elections. Department: Middlesex County Board of Elections (Board)Reports To: Board of Elections AdministratorSupervises: Deputy Warehouse Supervisor, Election Officials (Warehouse), Seasonal Warehouse Employees, and other personnel assigned to warehouse operationsHours: Various; generally, Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required during election periods and as operational needs dictate. Responsibilities Conducts and supervises warehouse operations in accordance with applicable federal election requirements, Title 19 of the New Jersey Statutes, policies and procedures of the New Jersey Division of Elections, and policies and procedures of the Middlesex County Board of Elections. Plans, organizes, assigns, and supervises the daily work of warehouse personnel. Provides day-to-day directions to the Deputy Warehouse Supervisor, Election Officials (Warehouse), seasonal employees, and other personnel assigned to warehouse operations. Coordinates staffing and work assignments to ensure election deadlines and operational requirements are met. Oversees the preparation, testing, maintenance, cleaning, storage, and minor repair of voting machines and other election equipment. Oversees the preparation, programming support, packing, organization, deployment, return, and storage of electronic poll books and related equipment. Oversees the preparation and packing of election supplies for Early Voting, Election Day, and other election-related activities. Develops and coordinates schedules for the delivery and retrieval of voting machines, electronic poll books, election supplies, and other equipment. Coordinates election equipment and supply logistics with Board staff, vendors, municipal officials, polling locations, transportation personnel, and other parties as directed by the Administrator. Maintains appropriate inventory and accountability procedures for voting equipment, electronic poll books, election supplies, tools, vehicles, and other Board property assigned to the warehouse. Ensures sensitive election equipment, documents, materials, and supplies are appropriately secured and safeguarded. Establishes and maintains orderly warehouse storage and staging areas to promote security, accountability, efficiency, and workplace safety. Monitors the condition of election equipment and promptly reports significant equipment, facility, security, staffing, or operational concerns to the Administrator. Coordinates polling-place site visits and inspections, including reviews for compliance with applicable Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility requirements. Assists with evaluating polling locations and identifying operational or logistical issues affecting the deployment of election equipment. Attends, assists with, and administers poll worker training classes as assigned. Supervises warehouse activities associated with Early Voting and Election Day, including equipment deployment, troubleshooting support, replacement equipment, emergency response, retrieval, and post-election processing. Coordinates post-election return, inspection, inventory, maintenance, and secure storage of election equipment and supplies. Assists the Administrator with planning for future elections, including staffing, equipment, supply, transportation, and warehouse needs. Provides recommendations to the Administrator concerning warehouse operations, staffing, equipment replacement or repair, workflow, security, and operational improvements. Provides training and instruction to warehouse employees and ensures employees understand assigned responsibilities, safety requirements, election procedures, and applicable Board policies. Monitors employee performance and reports personnel, attendance, performance, disciplinary, or operational concerns to the Administrator. Promotes a professional, nonpartisan, secure, and orderly working environment. Ensures warehouse personnel comply with workplace safety requirements and appropriate procedures for handling, moving, transporting, and storing election equipment. Responds to election-related emergencies and operational issues as directed by the Administrator. Maintains effective communication with the Administrator regarding warehouse readiness, significant operational issues, and completion of election-related assignments. Performs all other duties assigned, delegated, or required by the Administrator or Board, including duties prescribed by law. Attends all required State, County, and Board training as directed by management. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Supervisory, warehouse, logistics, election administration, equipment management, or comparable operational experience preferred. Experience working in election administration or with voting equipment and election logistics is strongly preferred. Must be able to accurately follow and communicate verbal and written instructions. Must possess strong organizational and observational skills. Must be able to lift and move approximately 30–60 pounds as required in the performance of assigned duties. Must possess or obtain any licenses, certifications, or training required for assigned equipment or vehicles. Must successfully complete all election-related training required by the State of New Jersey and Middlesex County Board of Elections. The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $65,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
