Employer: Sonny Merryman Inc About Company: Overview The Parts Warehouse & Delivery Associate plays an important role in supporting the daily operations of our Parts Department by ensuring the accurate handling, organization, and timely delivery of parts and materials. This position combines warehouse operations and parts delivery responsibilities, with time allocated between the two based on departmental needs. The associate will work closely with Parts Analysts, Outside Parts Sales Representatives, and Service personnel to maintain inventory accuracy, fulfill customer orders, and provide dependable delivery service. This role requires strong attention to detail, safe driving practices, excellent customer service, and a flexible, team-oriented approach to supporting both internal departments and external customers. Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management * Pick, pack, stage, and prepare customer orders for delivery, shipment, or pickup. * Maintain organized inventory locations and ensure parts are properly stored and accessible. * Assist with loading, unloading, and shipping parts and materials. * Assist customers and vendors with orders, pickups, and returns. * Assist Parts Analysts and Service Technicians with parts lookups and inventory needs. * Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment. * Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and workspace. Parts Delivery & Customer Service * Safely operate company delivery vehicles, including box trucks, on assigned delivery routes. * Load, transport, and deliver customer parts orders accurately and on schedule. * Verify parts and quantities prior to delivery to ensure order accuracy. * Pick up customer returns, cores, warranty items, and other materials as assigned. * Pick up and deliver parts, supplies, and other materials for the Service Department as needed to support timely repairs and daily service operations. * Handle parts carefully to prevent loss or damage during loading, transportation, and delivery. * Provide friendly, professional, and courteous service during all customer interactions. * Build positive customer relationships and serve as a dependable representative of Sonny Merryman. * Communicate customer questions, concerns, or additional parts needs to the appropriate team member. * Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate any delivery issues or discrepancies. Vehicle, Equipment & Safety Responsibilities * Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of company delivery vehicles. * Maintain company vehicles in a clean and professional condition. * Promptly report vehicle maintenance needs, damage, accidents, or safety concerns. * Follow all company safety policies, traffic laws, and applicable vehicle regulations. * Practice safe loading and unloading procedures and properly secure cargo for transportation. * Maintain a safe driving record and operate company vehicles responsibly. * Follow proper safety procedures when operating warehouse equipment and handling materials. Expectations/Successes: The Parts Warehouse & Delivery Associate is expected to provide reliable support to both warehouse operations and customer deliveries while maintaining a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism. Success in this role is demonstrated through accurate inventory management, timely order fulfillment, safe and dependable deliveries, positive customer interactions, and a willingness to assist wherever needed. The associate must be able to transition between warehouse and delivery responsibilities based on departmental priorities, understanding that both functions are equally important to the overall success of the Parts Department. Qualifications: * High school diploma or GED preferred. * Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required. * Ability to safely and confidently operate company delivery vehicles, including box trucks. * Previous delivery, warehouse, automotive parts, or commercial vehicle experience preferred. * Excellent customer service and communication skills. * Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently while following an assigned delivery schedule. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivery accuracy. * Ability to work collaboratively with Parts Analysts, Outside Parts Sales Representatives, warehouse personnel, and other departments. * Ability to safely load, unload, carry, and move parts and materials. * Ability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and handle heavier or oversized items with appropriate assistance or equipment. * Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and perform other physical activities associated with delivery and warehouse work.
Requirements
Candidates should have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Previous experience in warehouse, delivery, or automotive parts environments is preferred, along with strong attention to detail.
