Employer: PRIMEX INTERNATIONAL TRADING JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title Packer Department Production Reports To Production Supervisor FLSA Status ☐ Exempt ☒ Non-Exempt Employment Type ☒ Full-Time ☐ Part-Time Position Summary The Packer is responsible for packaging pistachios and ensuring finished products are efficiently packed to meet production standards. This role includes operating packaging equipment, maintaining product quality, performing inspections, and ensuring proper labeling and storage of packaged products while complying with food safety, quality, and company standards. Essential Functions • Package pistachios into designated containers, bags, cartons, or pallets according to product specifications. • Operate and monitor packaging equipment to ensure efficient and accurate filling of products. • Perform quality checks to verify proper weights, seals, labels, and packaging integrity. • Properly label packaged products with batch numbers, production codes, expiration dates, and other required information. • Inspect pistachios and packaging materials to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards. • Report product quality concerns, packaging defects, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors. • Maintain accurate records of production quantities and completed work. • Assist with inventory counts and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies. • Follow all safety procedures, GMPs, food safety regulations, and company policies. • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of packaging areas, equipment, conveyor systems, and storage areas. • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members. • Maintain regular and reliable attendance. • Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience • High school diploma or GED preferred. • Previous food manufacturing, production, warehouse, or packaging experience preferred. • Forklift certification not required but may be beneficial. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. • Basic math and communication skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality. • Ability to safely operate packaging equipment and machinery. Work Environment • Food manufacturing environment. • Exposure to dust, noise, varying temperatures, and moving machinery. • Indoor work with occasional exposure to warm roasting and processing areas. • May work around chemicals used for sanitation and cleaning. • May work around allergens including pistachios and other tree nuts. • Requires compliance with GMP, food safety, and sanitation requirements.
