About the Role: The Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and products to support production schedules and customer orders. The Material Handler will operate various material handling equipment to move goods safely and efficiently throughout the warehouse and production areas. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to maintain inventory accuracy and workplace safety. Ultimately, this role contributes to minimizing production downtime and optimizing warehouse operations to meet organizational goals. Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Proven experience in material handling within a manufacturing or warehouse setting. * Ability to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely. * Basic computer skills to use warehouse management systems and barcode scanners. * Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods. Preferred Qualifications: * Forklift certification or experience operating powered industrial trucks. * Experience with assembly line support in a manufacturing environment. * Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures. * Ability to work flexible hours including overtime and weekends. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Responsibilities: * Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments to verify accuracy and quality of materials. * Use material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts to transport materials to designated locations. * Pick and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring correct quantities and proper packaging. * Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory movement and update records in real-time. * Assist with assembly line support by delivering materials and components as needed to maintain continuous production flow. * Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on material handling equipment. * Work overtime as required to meet production deadlines and shipping schedules. * Maintain a clean and organized work environment to comply with safety and quality standards. Skills: The required skills such as operating material handling equipment and using warehouse management systems are essential for moving and tracking inventory efficiently throughout the workday. Proficiency in order picking and shipping/receiving ensures that materials are accurately prepared and dispatched, supporting production and customer satisfaction. The ability to work overtime demonstrates flexibility and commitment to meeting operational demands during peak periods. Familiarity with bar code scanning technology enhances inventory accuracy and streamlines warehouse processes. Preferred skills like forklift operation and assembly line support further enable the Material Handler to contribute to a safe, productive, and well-coordinated manufacturing environment.
