We're a 75-year old, family-owned company passionate about our mission of Impacting Lives through Exceptional Service. Summary: Operate the forklift to perform various material handling duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities as follows: Other duties may be assigned. * Prior to signing out equipment - performs operations and safety check, including brakes, battery and lift controls. * Signs out equipment by documenting the pre-operational checklist. * Operate forklift and other power equipment that they have been trained on. * Replenish slots from product overflow to their assigned aisles. * Report to front dock to stock incoming freight. * Clean and maintain their assigned aisles. * Separate empty pallets from their areas and maintain acceptable stacking height. * Maintain a clean, safe and orderly workplace. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: GSC provides on the job training Language Skills: Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two- digit numbers Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be trained and certified on each piece of equipment Other Qualifications: * Satisfactory work record and attendance. * Must be dependable, reliable, and mature enough to handle equipment safely and sensibly. * Ability to take instruction from supervisor and get along with co-workers.
