Job Description
Employer: Dairy Farmers of America GENERAL PURPOSE PERFORM VARIOUS WAREHOUSE AND INVENTORY RELATED TASKS. RECEIVE, PROCESS, STORE, MOVE, AND DISTRIBUTE ITEMS (PRODUCTS, MATERIALS, INGREDIENTS, EQUIPMENT, SUPPLIES, ETC.) WITHIN A WAREHOUSE OR COOLER/REFRIGERATED ENVIRONMENT. UNLOAD AND LOAD TRUCKS, TRUCK TRAILERS, CASES, PALLETS, STACKS, ETC. READ PRODUCTION SCHEDULES, CUSTOMER ORDERS, WORK ORDERS, SHIPPING ORDERS, OR REQUISITIONS TO DETERMINE ITEMS TO BE MOVED, GATHERED, OR DISTRIBUTED. CONVEY MATERIALS AND ITEMS FROM RECEIVING OR PRODUCTION AREAS TO STORAGE OR TO OTHER DESIGNATED AREAS BY HAND, HAND TRUCK, OR ELECTRIC HAND TRUCK. RECORD RECEIVED AND SHIPPED ITEMS. MAINTAIN A CLEAN AND SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT. WORK WITHIN CLEARLY DEFINED PROCESSES AND TASKS. INTERPERSONAL: * Good work ethics (sense of proud) * Dependable * Win /Win attitude * Coachable (willingness to learn, take direction and grow) * Respectful to others * Flexible with change TEAMWORK: * Work within a group setting * Willingness to help others QUALITY: * Understand appearance of work * Follow good work practices and procedures SAFETY * Comply to all food safety and human safety rules * Help develop a safety culture CUSTOMER SERVICE * Internal – working with other warehouse workers, drivers, admin team, management * External – support production (off-site), other warehouse support, and store support PAY: $21.50/ hour Hours: First shift (4am – 12:30pm) Split shift (7:30 am – 4pm) Second shift (3pm – 11:30pm) Qualifications EXPERIENCE/ CERTIFICATION/ REQUIREMENTS: * 2 years of working in a warehouse environment * 1 year of working in extreme cold environment ( -20 degrees for up to 2 hours at a time preferred) * 2 years of order picking/packing * 2 years of loading and unloading trucks * 2 years of experience operating multiple types of forklifts (electric single and double pallet jacks, sit down forklift, stand-up forklift, and stand-up reach forklift * 1 year experience working with RF scan guns * Able to work in a fast pace * Lift up to 50 pounds * Push hand carts up to 700 pounds * Basic reading, writing, math (count, add and subtract) * Able work overtime upon request * High school diploma or equivalent * 0 to 1 year of warehouse, distribution, production, or related experienceCertification and/or License – may require forklift, walk behind jack, or other related work certifications An Equal Opportunity Employer including Disabled/Veterans
Requirements
Candidates must have at least 2 years of warehouse experience, including proficiency with multiple types of forklifts and RF scan guns. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in extreme cold environments, and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
