Visit our Careers page at www.WorkForGPM.com [https://workforcenow.adp.com/mascsr/default/mdf/recruitment/recruitment.html?cid=31675842-64d3-4850-823a-e37f71fa6c05&ccId=19000101_000001&type=MP&lang=en_US].     The Role:  Great Plains Mfg is seeking an experienced 1st shift Forklift Operator at our facility in Ellsworth, KS.    This position works Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, with overtime on Fridays as required.    Essential Duties and Responsibilities-include the following.  Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment. * Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, forklift, hoist or crane. * Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit. * Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated area. * Secure lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or signal crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination. * Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet or computer while maintaining accurate inventory quantities. * Attach identifying tags or labels to materials; mark information on cases, bales, or other containers. * Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band bundles together. * Lift heavy objects by hand or with power hoist; clean work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators. * Assemble crates to contain products, such as parts or products, using handtools and precut lumber. * Understanding and use of AS400 and RF units to find location of parts, routing, product structure and parts availability. * Assist in receiving of parts from vendor and route truck. * Assist with cycle counts as needed. * Daily inspection and safe operation of forklift. * Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.   Preferred Skills and Qualifications:  * Previous forklift operator experience is required * Ability to understand team concepts and be a strong team player * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to excel in fast-paced, high-pressure situations and be results-oriented * Understanding of lean concepts and willing to implement change * Ability to follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE as required

Requirements

Candidates must have previous forklift operating experience and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Proficiency in following safety regulations and basic computer skills for inventory tracking are required.
